Is this based on The Supremes?

BouBear here. I gave my review on Dreamgirls and yes, this is loosely based on the Supremes. The group was originally started by back up singer Mary Wilson who recruited Diana Ross and Florence Ballard. It was Florence who was kicked out of the group and died in poverty. Florence was replaced by Cindy Birdsong.

Dreamgirls is a great movie for the whole family. Dreamgirls is a must see movie of the year. I love Dreamgirls especially Jennifier Hudson

I thought the movie had a wonderful cast and two blockbuster performances from Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy.

The movie, however, was grotesquely long, badly written and edited in a way that left one wondering who was in the editing room.

For all the good performances and spectacular sets, it frankly was not a very good movie.

But oh how I want to hear Jennifer Hudson sing in concert!

I hated this movie. no offense.

First, it was too long. which you mentioned. each musical number just dragged on....

Second, i found it to be boring. it really isn't a fun movie. there was hardly any humor or excitement...

i loved chicago, but hated this. it wasn't entertainment pleasure for me...
hairspray was a better movie musical... it was fun, and still talked about serious issues.
