Nothing would make me happier than for this movie to be 5 stars. It wasn't even close. I was nodding off toward the end...

man what movie were you watching people at the end of the movie applaud after the movie was over. I'm a big time movie buff and I rarely see that happen at the end of a movie. I wouldn't agree with this critic's review at all...and he calls himself a fan of the toy and cartoon, I don't believe he was ever a fan if he didn't like this movie. I felt like a kid again watching this movie totally entertain...Go see it if you love and are true fans of the whole "transformer nation", I can't believe that review...

Good review. I haven't seen this film yet, but I have one thing to say: if all this film had going for it was giant CG robot action scenes...then really, what is the problem? That's pretty much all I'm going to see this movie for. Come on, it's directed by Michael Bay. Expecting it to be a moving piece of art is expecting way, way too much.

This movie was another Mike Bay piece of s**t. It fell into the same lines as Armageddon, The (truly wretched) Amityville Horror, and all the other overhyped wastes of time he creates. I definitely agree with this review. The script was FEEBLE, the robots looked great but acted rediculous, the fights were weak and the comedy was sickening. They need to revise the rating system. I would give this a NC-12 and under. that way, an adult wouldn't actually stumble into this waste of two hours. It's amazing how shrewd marketing, money and strategic release dates can brainwash someone into liking a film more than they actually do. I thought it only worked on kids but apparently some adults are just as vulnerable.

I'm not a fan at all of Transformers, but I still thought it looks awesome, and it could help me become a fan.

People applauded at the end of the showing I was at as well, and most of them were around ten years old. I don't think I would have liked this film when I was ten, because I could have been home watching the cartoons which were superior in EVERY WAY.
You gotta understand, I wanted this movie to be great, but when a film maker like Bay treats the subject of my child hood love as a big joke, I gotta hate on it. Bumblebee peeing fuel on that guy, giant robots hiding in the backyard shrubs, and Optimus Prime cracking stupid jokes between LAME dialogue. BOOO!!! I'll be happy just watching the cartoons on DVD.

Just watching the trailers, I'm concerned about lack of plot. I'm torn between seeing it now for the sake of seeing the effects on the big screen or just waiting for the DVD.

Movie Was great. Bad review

I really enjoyed this movie a whole lot. It was action-packed and the robots looked great. For all of those dummies who are hating on the movie, you all don't know movies. If you love action, then like me, you will think that this is a great movie!!!! Go Transformers....They are more than meets the eye

First of all, I am a HUGE fan of movies, and like most of you, I feel that most movies today have lost their sense of "humanism." However, in order to give an accurate review, you have to be braindead to expect that a movie such as Transformers is going to deliver an intriguing plot that anyone can relate to, or even understand for that matter. The bottom line is, this movie gets and A+ in succeeding at its main purpose: To sell toys, video games, cars, etc., and to provide great CG special effects, NOTHING else. Yes, the plot was rather lame, but if you want an interesting plot with likable characters, stay home and rent Rain Man or Stand By Me. Well done!

The movie made the Transformers seem stupid. Just because the subject of the film is cool, that doesn't automatically make the movie good. Geez, you people must have loved Batman Forever and Batman and Robin too...

i watched the cartoons and never seen Barricade the police car in the cartoon series.. and in the movie Bumble Bee is a Camaro not a Bug like in the Cartoons... i think they did a good job with Transformers and they left the ending to where they are making a Transformers 2

This dartfleenor is an idiot. He gave this movie the worst review as other people have. You cant go and see this movies and expect a complicated story line or extremely drawn out characters. As Bill Bellicheck says, it is what it is; a really good action film. This movie is definitely worth the money. Don't go see this movie for a plot that will blow your mind. Don't go and see this movie to pick every scene apart. Just go see this movie to be entertained for 140mins. Michael Bay did an excellent job on the special effects. The Transformer's colors and animation were pristine and the battle sequences were like nothing I had saw, in a very long time. I saw it twice already and I am looking forward to it coming out on DVD.

Umm were you awake during the movie?!! It was amazing! I even went back to see it again :-) I think it was done wonderfully and the extra stories (signals analyst chick) made it more believable! If I could I would give it 10 stars, I even got a little teary. If you havent seen it, GO NOW!!!

I can't say that I agree that Transformers was an absolute abomination. I did enjoy it, not that it was a great movie, but it was entertaining. Even though I cringe at the thought of Michael Bay, at least it wasn't a movie directed by Uwe Boll. But it is a relly well written review at least. I mean relly.

I liked the Transformers for what it was, but I can understand why it could be perceived as a bad flick. There were quite a few moments when I groaned listening to some of the dialogue. Hey folks, what's fun about this site is that we all get to be Ebert & Roeper. Just remember, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and it is possible to disagree in an adult manner without resorting to personal attacks. Hate to go "den mother" but that's just the way I see it.

Alright, I saw the movie and you are very wrong. sure it was corny, but DAMN, if you didn't enjoy this one bit, you're crazy!!! The humor didn't even make you CHUCKLE?!? Read the last paragraph in your review. "Cool robots... big CG baddies with cool futuristic weapons who change into awesome cars, tanks, jets... all of that good stuff. But that's all this movie had." WTF?!? "THAT'S ALL THIS MOVIE HAD." What else is there you want dammit?!? ISN'T THAT GOOD ENOUGH!!!?? Well I think so, because I'm content when watching giant robots that can transform into vehicles beat the [profanity removed] out of eachother. so suck ass, it's a great movie.

My guess is that all the people who loved this movie have no idea what really makes a good movie. If good special effects combined with lame plot and dialogue strung together to justify a few OK action sequences are all it takes to please the masses anymore, I weep for the future of cinema.

How could you drop about three stars just because the dialogue was a little corny, the acting was fuzzy, and maybe they changed the Transformers a smidge from your awesome TV series?? not sure what movie you people were watching...of course your gonna expect it to be like the cartoons when thats what you grew up with but hey this is the 21st century not the 80's.the plot could of had more work done to it but they stuck to it most of the way through without getting sidetracked too badly.i came here to see what movie buffs thought but did NOT expect reviews to be like this.movies like the new die hard are ones that get my blood boiling...like death dealer said "one of the best movies of 2007."

sry for double posting but i wanted to add that i didnt quite see as much in the fight scenes as i wanted to the 1st time but saw it a 2nd and could see everything very clearly and was more blown away than before.

Tramsformers was one of the best movies that came out this summer. It was filled with action. On a scale from 0-10 for action Transfomers got a 10. It also had comedy and I mean lots of comedy. On a scale of 0-10 for comedy I give it a 10. If anybody hasn't seen this movie you need to see it today. If it's not at the movies want til it comes out and get it the first day it comes out. I'm not sure of the date.

I thought this movie was really good actually i would give it a 5 stars. has a little bit of action and a little bit of comedy and even a little bit of romance. i thought it was a great movie. not sure why you hate it so much.

I'll bet Darthfleenor (the hell does that mean?) was upset they tried to remake the old TV series, so he went in expecting the worse. The dialogue was sometimes stupid, but come on, the Transformers were AWESOME!!!! great improvements from the old ones, especially Megatron.

I thought the movie was great. Yes, it didn't have a lot in terms of a "true" story. But it delivered what we all wanted and expected --an all out Michael Bay action film, where we could just sit back and be entertained for a couple of hours. And you have to admit, the characters were perfect for their roles.

Speaking of characters, I actually stumbled across a video online with one of the characters from the Transformers movie. It's actually pretty funny.........if not weird :o)

This movie was great. All of the actors were spot on even the transformers, my favorite being bumblebee. I loved the idea for the movie and it was definitely a well written script. I saw the movie in theaters and bought it also. This rating is very hard and definitely wrong about th movie. 5 stars for me for the movie!

that movie was much better than I expected. I just thought it would be a cheesy dramatized version of the cartoon, but the action mixed with acting really surprised me. I give it ****.

Okay, so the robots hiding in the back yard and being noticed by the kid's parents was a little unbelievable, but overall, the movie was much better than you thought it was. It definitely deserved more than one star!
