Synopsis: "While working in the Paris office of the U.S. ambassador to France (Richard Durden), low-level intelligence agent Richard Stevens (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) gets pulled into a terrorist plot by a high-ranking but uncouth American operative (John Travolta) who's trying to stop it. Pierre Morel directs this fast-paced international thriller with a script by Luc Besson (The Professional, The Fifth Element) and Adi Hasak." "From Paris with Love""A lot like "The Book of Eli" but this doesn't have as much depth. I was bored until John Travolta came in, the bald crazy man terrorist. He really does give one of the better performances of his career here and one of the best performances in the last year. Actually, this movie would be terrible but Travolta is so extravagant with his character that the film ends up being alright. The script though is horrendous and I hated Jonathan Rhys Myers performance as Travolta’s assistant. Mediocre movie but fantastic excitement from Travolta." by willyt on Mon Feb 22nd, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Trigger Hungry FBI Agent fights terrorists in Paris.""If you're just looking for a short and sweet answer too, "should I watch this movie?" The answer is that if you like action packed movies with fight scenes in famous places then yes, stop reading this and go watch the movie. However if you want to know a little more about this movie then by all means keep reading. John Travolta stars as Charlie Max in this latest action film by director Pierre Morel (Taken). Charlie Max is a trigger hungry FBI agent who loves shooting the "bad guys". He loves guns so much that he named his favorite gun "Mrs. Jones". He likes to count everyone he's killed, but about halfway through the movie his number gets so high that he just gives up. Jonathan Meyers (Mission Impossible III) also stars in this, works really well paired together with Travolta, (who really seemed to have a great time in this movie). All in all this movie was action packed with a couple of twists in the main plot. Grade B+" by bolosreviews on Thu Feb 4th, 2010 1 Comments | Reply | Report |
